2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 — carbureted engine stumbles on quick throttle input

TorqueGeekCommunity StarterSep 2, 20262013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTMiami
2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT, about 133,500 miles. Idle is decent and steady cruising is fine, but a quick tip-in makes the engine stumble. Would you verify ignition timing before chasing accelerator-pump calibration?

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

Log the conditions before you spend. Move a coil or plug on the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “carbureted engine stumbles on quick throttle input,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and see if the fault moves. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Miami with 133,500 miles. Do that first. I'd rather be boring and correct. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. I keep a notes app thread for this now.

Asking because it changes the advice: Get a real battery/charging test on the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Save the big job until that test fails. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Stop there until you know. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.
