2013 Infiniti G37 — dealer keeps discussing monthly payment instead of OTD

MarketDIYer793Community StarterSep 7, 20252013 Infiniti G37 xSNYC
Every time I ask for sale price and fees, the conversation goes back to monthly payment. I am bringing my own financing. Is there any reason not to insist on a full buyer order before going in? I am in NYC. I am trying to get the facts straight before spending money. What would you check next?

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2013 Infiniti G37 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2013 Infiniti G37 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I asked about dealer keeps discussing monthly payment instead of again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

If I were shopping this, i would not wire money until I've seen the 2013 Infiniti G37 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2013 Infiniti G37. Sleeping on the number either way.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2013 Infiniti G37 numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “dealer keeps discussing monthly payment instead of,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2013 Infiniti G37 in NYC. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. That's my plan before I call anyone.
