2013 Infiniti G37 — ticking noise follows RPM but fades when warm

There is a light ticking sound that follows engine speed for the first few minutes and then becomes hard to hear. Oil level is correct. How would you separate normal injector noise from valvetrain noise? If I figure it out I will update the thread.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2013 Infiniti G37 and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “ticking noise follows rpm but fades when,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2013 Infiniti G37 didn't change. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Yes, with one caveat: Move a coil or plug on the 2013 Infiniti G37 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Stop there until you know. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
