2013 Nissan 370Z — a/C is cold on the highway but warm at stoplights

BoostPilotCommunity StarterMay 5, 20262013 Nissan 370Z TouringSeattle
The A/C works well with road speed but gets noticeably warmer at long lights, then cools again almost immediately once moving. Does that point more toward airflow/fan behavior than refrigerant level?

Log the conditions before you spend. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2013 Nissan 370Z and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “a/c is cold on the highway but,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

If it were in my driveway, write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2013 Nissan 370Z does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Ask what changed right before it started. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2013 Nissan 370Z is losing coolant with no puddle. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Did the worksheet show tax yet? I keep a notes app thread for this now.

OP update: scanned the 2013 Nissan 370Z again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2013 Nissan 370Z, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Quick add on that: Move a coil or plug on the 2013 Nissan 370Z if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “a/c is cold on the highway but,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.
