2013 Nissan 370Z — new model reveal: what matters after headline specs?

Launch stories focus on horsepower and screens, but I care about curb weight, tire sizes, cargo dimensions, serviceability, trim packaging and real transaction price. What details do you wait for? I am in Miami.

I parked the 2013 Nissan 370Z and wrote down what I already tested so I'm not repeating myself. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Software recalls make me ask how much of 'driving' lives in a module now. If this is a 2027 reveal, I wouldn't map it onto today's 2013 Nissan 370Z ownership costs yet. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2013 Nissan 370Z in Miami. Do that first. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Following up on new model reveal: what matters after headline: still happening, but I have better notes now. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Software recalls make me ask how much of 'driving' lives in a module now. On a 2013 Nissan 370Z, I'd care more about the remedy and downtime than the press wording. That's where I'd start. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

New-model numbers always look better than curb weight and tire size. On a 2013 Nissan 370Z, I'd care more about the remedy and downtime than the press wording. I'd do that before spending real money. On “new model reveal: what matters after headline,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2013 Nissan 370Z in Miami. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Useful. I'll report back after I verify that on my 2013 Nissan 370Z. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Software recalls make me ask how much of 'driving' lives in a module now. Check whether your 2013 Nissan 370Z VIN is actually in the affected batch before you plan a dealer day. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2013 Nissan 370Z in Miami. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

New-model numbers always look better than curb weight and tire size. If this is a 2027 reveal, I wouldn't map it onto today's 2013 Nissan 370Z ownership costs yet. Then you'll know the next fork. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

I'd wait for the actual TSB/recall population, not the headline. Check whether your 2013 Nissan 370Z VIN is actually in the affected batch before you plan a dealer day. That's where I'd start. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.
