Same year, trim and similar mileage, but two listings are thousands apart. One is CPO and one is not.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2016 Subaru WRX and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. In Charlotte, insurance quotes flipped a 2016 Subaru WRX comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2016 Subaru WRX in Charlotte. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Charlotte, insurance quotes flipped a 2016 Subaru WRX comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2016 Subaru WRX. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

This is from a 2016 Subaru WRX in Charlotte. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Call your insurer in Charlotte before you fall in love with the 2016 Subaru WRX. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. A written buyer’s order on the 2016 Subaru WRX is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. This is from a 2016 Subaru WRX in Charlotte. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'd rather be boring and correct. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I asked about two nearly identical cars are priced $4k again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Ask for out-the-door on the 2016 Subaru WRX with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “two nearly identical cars are priced $4k,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 2016 Subaru WRX is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “two nearly identical cars are priced $4k,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. Two 2016 Subaru WRX quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I'll update if anything new shows up.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. In Charlotte, insurance quotes flipped a 2016 Subaru WRX comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

If I were shopping this, if they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2016 Subaru WRX price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Just my two cents from doing this recently. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2016 Subaru WRX and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2016 Subaru WRX in Charlotte. No need to make it theatrical. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2016 Subaru WRX. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2016 Subaru WRX so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'd rather be boring and correct. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In Charlotte, insurance quotes flipped a 2016 Subaru WRX comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Ask for out-the-door on the 2016 Subaru WRX with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again.
