2017 Audi Q7 — two nearly identical cars are priced $4k apart

SunBeltDriver817Community StarterMay 7, 20262017 Audi Q7 3.0TFlorida
2017 Audi Q7 3.0T, about 91,000 miles. Same year, trim and similar mileage, but two listings are thousands apart. One is CPO and one is not. How would you quantify condition, warranty, history and dealer reputation?

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Ask for out-the-door on the 2017 Audi Q7 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “two nearly identical cars are priced $4k,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the whole play. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2017 Audi Q7 numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. When does it actually happen? Sleeping on the number either way.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 2017 Audi Q7 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “two nearly identical cars are priced $4k,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

If I were shopping this, in Florida, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Audi Q7 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2017 Audi Q7 in Florida with 91,000 miles. Stop there until you know. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I would not stare at the monthly. Two 2017 Audi Q7 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Do that first. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. Two 2017 Audi Q7 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Ask for out-the-door on the 2017 Audi Q7 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Ask for out-the-door on the 2017 Audi Q7 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “two nearly identical cars are priced $4k,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In Florida, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Audi Q7 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

If I were shopping this, if they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2017 Audi Q7 price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2017 Audi Q7 numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. This is from a 2017 Audi Q7 in Florida with 91,000 miles. Stop there until you know. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Ask for out-the-door on the 2017 Audi Q7 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. If they balk, that's your answer. On “two nearly identical cars are priced $4k,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2017 Audi Q7 (91,000 miles) and the doc fee was the tell. Sleeping on the number either way.

Not convinced that's the whole story. In Florida, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Audi Q7 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2017 Audi Q7 in Florida with 91,000 miles. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I would not stare at the monthly. If one piece looks too good on the 2017 Audi Q7, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2017 Audi Q7 in Florida with 91,000 miles. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.
