2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee — online auction photos barely show the underside — Northern Virginia owner question

CamberBuilder2Community StarterNov 1, 20252017 Jeep Grand Cherokee LimitedNorthern Virginia
2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, about 134,500 miles. Auction listing has lots of cosmetic photos and records, but not much underneath. For an older enthusiast car, what questions or photos would you request before bidding remotely? I am in Northern Virginia.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “online auction photos barely show the underside,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Northern Virginia with 134,500 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Fair point. Counterpoint: In Northern Virginia, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Northern Virginia with 134,500 miles. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee notes. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in Northern Virginia before you fall in love with the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Do that before you talk monthly again. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. In Northern Virginia, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Northern Virginia with 134,500 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Ask for out-the-door on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'd rather be boring and correct. Sleeping on the number either way.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Northern Virginia with 134,500 miles. That's the sequence I'd use. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Two 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Northern Virginia with 134,500 miles. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I would not stare at the monthly. If one piece looks too good on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. No need to make it theatrical. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Northern Virginia changed the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee comparison more than the sale price did. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “online auction photos barely show the underside,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. That's my plan before I call anyone.
