2017 Porsche 911 — buyer sends a vehicle-history website I have never heard of

2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S, about 61,000 miles. Someone interested in my car insists I buy a report from a specific unfamiliar website before they will meet. Is this a common scam pattern and what information should I avoid entering?

Quick update: a second 2017 Porsche 911 quote made the first offer look ordinary. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2017 Porsche 911 price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2017 Porsche 911 in Portland with 61,000 miles. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Call your insurer in Portland before you fall in love with the 2017 Porsche 911. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “buyer sends a vehicle-history website i have,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. I screenshotted the quote for later.

If I were shopping this, if one piece looks too good on the 2017 Porsche 911, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Quick add on that: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2017 Porsche 911 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2017 Porsche 911. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

If I were shopping this, two 2017 Porsche 911 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2017 Porsche 911 in Portland with 61,000 miles. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2017 Porsche 911 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Just my two cents from doing this recently. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If one piece looks too good on the 2017 Porsche 911, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Portland, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Porsche 911 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2017 Porsche 911 in Portland with 61,000 miles. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Quick add on that: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2017 Porsche 911 numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2017 Porsche 911 numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “buyer sends a vehicle-history website i have,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. That's my plan before I call anyone.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2017 Porsche 911 notes. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2017 Porsche 911 (61,000 miles) and the doc fee was the tell. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2017 Porsche 911 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2017 Porsche 911 in Portland with 61,000 miles. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2017 Porsche 911 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. When does it actually happen? If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Call your insurer in Portland before you fall in love with the 2017 Porsche 911. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Sleeping on the number either way.
