2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S — a/C is cold while driving, warm at stoplights

A/C gets properly cold on the highway but becomes noticeably warmer at long lights. It cools down again almost immediately once the car is moving. Could this still be a refrigerant issue or does that point more toward airflow/fans? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

If it were in my driveway, capture voltage while the 2017 Porsche 911 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. The universe charges extra for guessing. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

Quick add on that: Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2017 Porsche 911 and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2017 Porsche 911 does it — then decide on parts. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2017 Porsche 911 in Dallas–Fort Worth. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Only after sitting overnight so far.

Log the conditions before you spend. Two 2017 Porsche 911s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Save the big job until that test fails. On “a/c is cold while driving, warm at,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the whole play. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

Yes, with one caveat: Loaded-suspension checks on the 2017 Porsche 911 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “a/c is cold while driving, warm at,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

OP update: scanned the 2017 Porsche 911 again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. That's my plan before I call anyone.
