2019 Ram 2500 — footwell gets wet only after heavy rain

2019 Ram 2500 Cummins, about 90,000 miles. The car stays dry in normal rain but after a long storm one front footwell gets damp. Door seal looks okay. What drain/seam tests would you do before tearing the interior apart?

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2019 Ram 2500 in Brooklyn, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “footwell gets wet only after heavy rain,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2019 Ram 2500 before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Yes, with one caveat: A second data point from another 2019 Ram 2500 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
