2020 GMC Yukon — driver seat clicks during left-right transitions

CanyonEnthusiastCommunity StarterDec 11, 20252020 GMC Yukon DenaliAtlanta
I can feel a small click through the seat base in corners. Mounting bolts appear tight and power functions work. How do you isolate rail play versus the frame or motor mechanism? I am in Atlanta. I would rather test this logically than replace parts.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2020 GMC Yukon is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Asking because it changes the advice: Loaded-suspension checks on the 2020 GMC Yukon catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

Log the conditions before you spend. Move a coil or plug on the 2020 GMC Yukon if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “driver seat clicks during left-right transitions,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Move a coil or plug on the 2020 GMC Yukon if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Checking again after work.

If it were in my driveway, capture voltage while the 2020 GMC Yukon is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. That's the branch I'd chase this week. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2020 GMC Yukon catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. No need to make it theatrical. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.
