2021 BMW X5 — rolling negative equity into another car

2021 BMW X5 xDrive40i, about 85,000 miles. Current car is worth less than the payoff and I need something different. Dealer says they can roll the difference into the new loan. I am trying to understand how ugly the math gets before doing that. What would you check next?

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If one piece looks too good on the 2021 BMW X5, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2021 BMW X5 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.
