2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 — intercooler before adding more boost?

This started as a small annoyance and I finally decided to track it down. 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2, about 54,500 miles. After repeated pulls the car softens as intake temperatures rise. Would you prioritize cooling before increasing boost, even if the current setup is otherwise mild? I would rather test this logically than replace parts.
