2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2 — silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission?

TruckMiles96Community StarterMay 5, 20262021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2Nashville
2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2, about 78,000 miles. At steady speed with light throttle I get a vibration that feels almost like driving over fine rumble strips. It disappears if I accelerate. What's the cleanest way to separate wheel/tire issues, cylinder-deactivation behavior and converter/transmission shudder? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop. What am I missing?

Log the conditions before you spend. Move a coil or plug on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the whole play. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Capture voltage while the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Capture voltage while the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. Stop there until you know. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Nashville with 78,000 miles. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.

If it were in my driveway, a pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Do that first. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

If it were in my driveway, write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Stop there until you know. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

I went back under the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Ask what changed right before it started. Move a coil or plug on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.

Log the conditions before you spend. Two 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Ask what changed right before it started. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Nashville with 78,000 miles. Stop there until you know. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission,” that was the fork that mattered for me. The universe charges extra for guessing. Checking again after work.

Update: the cheap test changed the symptom, so I'm not throwing parts yet. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 didn't change. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Cleared nothing. I want service to see the alert on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 first. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

I'd push back a little: Two 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Nashville with 78,000 miles. Do that first. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. That's the branch I'd chase this week. That's the whole play. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Not driving it hard until I know more.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Two 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Asking because it changes the advice: Get a real battery/charging test on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Nashville with 78,000 miles. Do that first. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I keep a notes app thread for this now.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and see if the fault moves. Save the big job until that test fails. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

It did silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

If it repeats twice more I'll book time.
