2021 Honda CR-V — surface rust underneath a winter daily

TowOwner428Community StarterMar 30, 20262021 Honda CR-V EX-LWestchester
2021 Honda CR-V EX-L, about 75,500 miles. There is early surface rust on brackets, fasteners and seams underneath, but nothing structural. For a salt-belt car, what treatment slows it down without creating a hard coating that traps moisture?

This is a climate question as much as a tire question. In Westchester, dedicated winters on the 2021 Honda CR-V paid off more than I expected on ice, even on plowed roads. That's where I'd start. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. In Westchester, dedicated winters on the 2021 Honda CR-V paid off more than I expected on ice, even on plowed roads. I'd do that before spending real money. On “v — surface rust underneath a winter,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.
