Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2021 Hyundai Palisade, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “maintenance rhythm for 35k miles a year,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.

If it were in my driveway, move a coil or plug on the 2021 Hyundai Palisade if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. That's the branch I'd chase this week. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Agree — and I'd add this: Move a coil or plug on the 2021 Hyundai Palisade if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “maintenance rhythm for 35k miles a year,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2021 Hyundai Palisade, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

I'd push back a little: Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2021 Hyundai Palisade does it — then decide on parts. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Any freeze-frame data saved? If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
