2021 Tesla Model S — infotainment became glitchy after an OTA update

After a software update the screen occasionally reboots and one saved setting keeps resetting. Is there a normal post-update reset procedure owners should try before booking service? I am in San Diego.

OP update: scanned the 2021 Tesla Model S again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. I'll poke at it this weekend.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Capture voltage while the 2021 Tesla Model S is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Agree — and I'd add this: Move a coil or plug on the 2021 Tesla Model S if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “infotainment became glitchy after an ota update,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Only after sitting overnight so far.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2021 Tesla Model S, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.
