2022 BMW X3 — new tires are much louder than the old set

2022 BMW X3 M40i, about 59,500 miles. Same size and pressure, but the new tires create noticeably more highway hum. Is this usually tread pattern/compound, or should I verify balance and alignment before blaming the tire model?

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2022 BMW X3 in San Diego, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “new tires are much louder than the,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I'd push back a little: Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2022 BMW X3 before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I parked the 2022 BMW X3 and wrote down what I already tested so I'm not repeating myself. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Thanks — that narrowed it. I'm going to try the simpler check on the 2022 BMW X3 first. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2022 BMW X3, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
