2022 Ford Maverick — fuel trims are positive at idle and improve with RPM

CanyonEnthusiastCommunity StarterMar 10, 20262022 Ford Maverick XLT HybridCalifornia
Long-term fuel trims are much more positive at idle than at 2,500 RPM. No obvious misfire. Does that pattern still make an intake/vacuum leak the first place to look?

If it were in my driveway, loaded-suspension checks on the 2022 Ford Maverick catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Ask what changed right before it started. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Ford Maverick, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Do that first. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Ford Maverick and see if the fault moves. Save the big job until that test fails. That's the whole play. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

It did fuel trims are positive at idle and twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

This is from a 2022 Ford Maverick in California. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Ford Maverick is losing coolant with no puddle. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. No need to make it theatrical. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Ford Maverick and see if the fault moves. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “fuel trims are positive at idle and,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2022 Ford Maverick and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2022 Ford Maverick catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 2022 Ford Maverick in California. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Ford Maverick, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.
