2022 Ford Maverick — windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter? — buyer question from Tampa

A new windshield is installed and there is no dash warning, but the shop recommends camera calibration. If the manufacturer procedure calls for it, would you do it even when lane-assist functions appear normal? I am in Tampa.

Ask what changed right before it started. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2022 Ford Maverick catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Two 2022 Ford Mavericks can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Ford Maverick, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Two 2022 Ford Mavericks can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Asking because it changes the advice: A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Ford Maverick is losing coolant with no puddle. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Stop there until you know. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

Asking because it changes the advice: Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Ford Maverick and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2022 Ford Maverick in Tampa. Do that first. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

OP update: scanned the 2022 Ford Maverick again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

It did windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter? twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Not driving it hard until I know more.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Ford Maverick and see if the fault moves. That's the branch I'd chase this week. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2022 Ford Maverick and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
