2022 Honda Accord — 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? — buyer question from Los Angeles

2022 Honda Accord 2.0T Sport, about 52,500 miles. I just crossed 50k miles and want to log maintenance, unscheduled repairs, tire life, fuel economy, dealer visits, annoyances and whether I would buy the same car again.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2022 Honda Accord so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Los Angeles with 52,500 miles. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2022 Honda Accord price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2022 Honda Accord price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Agree — and I'd add this: Call your insurer in Los Angeles before you fall in love with the 2022 Honda Accord. Do that before you talk monthly again. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Los Angeles with 52,500 miles. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2022 Honda Accord numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Ask for out-the-door on the 2022 Honda Accord with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Call your insurer in Los Angeles before you fall in love with the 2022 Honda Accord. Do that before you talk monthly again. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Sleeping on the number either way.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2022 Honda Accord and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Quick add on that: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2022 Honda Accord numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Los Angeles with 52,500 miles. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. Two 2022 Honda Accord quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

I would not stare at the monthly. In Los Angeles, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Honda Accord comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Los Angeles with 52,500 miles. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Ask for out-the-door on the 2022 Honda Accord with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Call your insurer in Los Angeles before you fall in love with the 2022 Honda Accord. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2022 Honda Accord price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. That's the whole play. Make the next action something you can finish this week. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. Two 2022 Honda Accord quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. No need to make it theatrical. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.
