2022 Honda Accord — cPO badge versus independent PPI

ShiftShopper690Community StarterMay 28, 20262022 Honda Accord 2.0T SportConnecticut
The dealer says the car passed the manufacturer CPO inspection and suggests an outside inspection is unnecessary. I like the warranty but still want an independent PPI. Overkill or sensible? Interested in real owner experience more than guesses. I am trying not to assume the first explanation I see online.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2022 Honda Accord numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “cpo badge versus independent ppi,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2022 Honda Accord and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. That's the whole play. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

If I were shopping this, in Connecticut, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Honda Accord comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Stop there until you know. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Not convinced that's the whole story. In Connecticut, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Honda Accord comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2022 Honda Accord so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Asking because it changes the advice: Two 2022 Honda Accord quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Was this after sitting overnight? I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
