2022 Honda Accord — going one inch smaller for winter wheels

2022 Honda Accord 2.0T Sport, about 70,000 miles. I want smaller winter wheels for more sidewall. Overall tire diameter can stay close, but I am worried about caliper and spoke clearance. What measurements should be checked before ordering? I am in Sacramento.

I'd pick the setup I'll actually live with in slush. In Sacramento, dedicated winters on the 2022 Honda Accord paid off more than I expected on ice, even on plowed roads. That's where I'd start. Stop there until you know. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

OP update: I tried the earlier suggestion and it only happens under that one condition. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

I'd pick the setup I'll actually live with in slush. If Sacramento only sees a few real storms, a good all-weather on the 2022 Honda Accord can be the saner daily. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Sacramento with 70,000 miles. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'll poke at it this weekend.

Asking because it changes the advice: Watch brake clearance and overall diameter if you downsize winter wheels on the 2022 Honda Accord. I'd do that before spending real money. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

I parked the 2022 Honda Accord and wrote down what I already tested so I'm not repeating myself. I keep a notes app thread for this now.
