2022 Lexus GX — vibration under acceleration but not while coasting

RotorDaily862Community StarterApr 18, 20262022 Lexus GX 460Baltimore
This started as a small annoyance and I finally decided to track it down. 2022 Lexus GX 460, about 42,000 miles. The car is smooth at the same road speed when I lift off, but under moderate acceleration I can feel a vibration through the floor. What would you inspect first to separate axle/driveline issues from an engine mount?

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Two 2022 Lexus GXs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Save the big job until that test fails. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Ask what changed right before it started. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Lexus GX, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Stop there until you know. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Capture voltage while the 2022 Lexus GX is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Capture voltage while the 2022 Lexus GX is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Checking again after work.

Yes, with one caveat: Two 2022 Lexus GXs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Save the big job until that test fails. On “vibration under acceleration but not while coasting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Lexus GX and see if the fault moves. Save the big job until that test fails. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Only after sitting overnight so far.

If it were in my driveway, a pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Lexus GX is losing coolant with no puddle. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2022 Lexus GX in Baltimore with 42,000 miles. Do that first. I'd rather be boring and correct. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Lexus GX is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2022 Lexus GX in Baltimore with 42,000 miles. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Asking because it changes the advice: Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2022 Lexus GX does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Lexus GX, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “vibration under acceleration but not while coasting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Checking again after work.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Capture voltage while the 2022 Lexus GX is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. On “vibration under acceleration but not while coasting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Move a coil or plug on the 2022 Lexus GX if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. On “vibration under acceleration but not while coasting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2022 Lexus GX didn't change. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

Cleared nothing. I want service to see the alert on the 2022 Lexus GX first. If the story changes I'll post the new data.
