2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4MATIC — random misfire code but engine feels fine

TrailTech93Community StarterAug 29, 20262022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4MATICCentral Florida
Scanner showed a cylinder-specific misfire code after one rough start, but the car feels completely normal now. Plugs aren't that old. Would you swap coils to see if the code follows, or just monitor until it happens again? If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

If it were in my driveway, if a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Move a coil or plug on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Ask what changed right before it started. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Make the next action something you can finish this week. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.

If it were in my driveway, two 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLEs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? I'd rather be boring and correct. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE in Central Florida. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Ask what changed right before it started. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Capture voltage while the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE in Central Florida. The universe charges extra for guessing. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE is losing coolant with no puddle. Save the big job until that test fails. On “benz gle 350 4matic — random misfire,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “benz gle 350 4matic — random misfire,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Move a coil or plug on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Capture voltage while the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Checking again after work.

I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE in Central Florida. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “benz gle 350 4matic — random misfire,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? I'll update if anything new shows up.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

Not convinced that's the whole story. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE does it — then decide on parts. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Two 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLEs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. Not driving it hard until I know more.

I went back under the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. Checking again after work.

Log the conditions before you spend. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “benz gle 350 4matic — random misfire,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Did the worksheet show tax yet? This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Only after sitting overnight so far.
