2022 Tesla Model 3 — is this actually a good used-car deal?

NewCarWeekend848Community StarterMar 3, 20262022 Tesla Model 3 Long RangeNew Jersey
The online price looks competitive, but I am trying to judge the entire deal rather than the headline number. What should I compare besides mileage, history, condition and a PPI before deciding what it is worth? Mileage is about 96,000.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2022 Tesla Model 3 and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. That's my plan before I call anyone.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In New Jersey, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Tesla Model 3 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2022 Tesla Model 3 in New Jersey. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Call your insurer in New Jersey before you fall in love with the 2022 Tesla Model 3. Do that before you talk monthly again. That's the sequence I'd use. Sleeping on the number either way.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2022 Tesla Model 3 price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2022 Tesla Model 3 in New Jersey. Do that first. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2022 Tesla Model 3 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “is this actually a good used-car deal,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Asking because it changes the advice: Two 2022 Tesla Model 3 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in New Jersey before you fall in love with the 2022 Tesla Model 3. If they balk, that's your answer. On “is this actually a good used-car deal,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Tesla Model 3 in New Jersey. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Call your insurer in New Jersey before you fall in love with the 2022 Tesla Model 3. If they balk, that's your answer. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
