2022 Tesla Model 3 — my model year is in a recall article but my VIN is not

ShiftShopper690Community StarterJul 14, 20262022 Tesla Model 3 Long RangeFlorida
2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, about 52,500 miles. News says my model year is involved, but the VIN lookup shows no open recall. Is that usually because only certain build ranges are affected, or can the databases lag? I am trying not to assume the first explanation I see online.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Capture voltage while the 2022 Tesla Model 3 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2022 Tesla Model 3 in Florida with 52,500 miles. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Make the next action something you can finish this week. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.

If it were in my driveway, write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2022 Tesla Model 3 does it — then decide on parts. Save the big job until that test fails. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Capture voltage while the 2022 Tesla Model 3 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.

Agree — and I'd add this: Loaded-suspension checks on the 2022 Tesla Model 3 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. On “my model year is in a recall,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Two 2022 Tesla Model 3s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Save the big job until that test fails. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Move a coil or plug on the 2022 Tesla Model 3 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.
