2022 Tesla Model 3 — pPI found $1,800 of upcoming work

CommuterBuilder83Community StarterJul 4, 20262022 Tesla Model 3 Long RangeCentral Jersey
2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, about 10,500 miles. Inspection found several real maintenance items but nothing catastrophic. I still like the car. Do you treat the shop estimate as a dollar-for-dollar negotiation point or just decide whether the asking price still makes sense? I would rather test this logically than replace parts. I am trying not to assume the first explanation I see online.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Ask for out-the-door on the 2022 Tesla Model 3 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2022 Tesla Model 3 in Central Jersey with 10,500 miles. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Central Jersey changed the 2022 Tesla Model 3 comparison more than the sale price did. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2022 Tesla Model 3 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “ppi found $1,800 of upcoming work,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Tesla Model 3 in Central Jersey with 10,500 miles. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Wrote this up on my lunch break.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2022 Tesla Model 3 and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2022 Tesla Model 3. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In Central Jersey, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Tesla Model 3 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If one piece looks too good on the 2022 Tesla Model 3, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. No need to make it theatrical. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in Central Jersey before you fall in love with the 2022 Tesla Model 3. Do that before you talk monthly again. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Sleeping on the number either way.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2022 Tesla Model 3. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. Two 2022 Tesla Model 3 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2022 Tesla Model 3 in Central Jersey with 10,500 miles. Any freeze-frame data saved? If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

I would not stare at the monthly. Two 2022 Tesla Model 3 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2022 Tesla Model 3 in Central Jersey with 10,500 miles. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
