2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge — a/C is cold while driving, warm at stoplights

A/C gets properly cold on the highway but becomes noticeably warmer at long lights. It cools down again almost immediately once the car is moving. Could this still be a refrigerant issue or does that point more toward airflow/fans? I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Volvo XC90 and see if the fault moves. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

Quick add on that: Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Volvo XC90, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Ask what changed right before it started. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Volvo XC90, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2022 Volvo XC90 in Las Vegas. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Volvo XC90 is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “a/c is cold while driving, warm at,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Move a coil or plug on the 2022 Volvo XC90 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2022 Volvo XC90 in Las Vegas. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Volvo XC90 is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Volvo XC90, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Volvo XC90 and see if the fault moves. That's the branch I'd chase this week. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Log the conditions before you spend. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Volvo XC90 is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “a/c is cold while driving, warm at,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.
