2023 Audi S5 — steering wheel shakes only under highway braking

CanyonGal883Community StarterAug 3, 20262023 Audi S5 SportbackSan Antonio
2023 Audi S5 Sportback, about 43,000 miles. Cruising is smooth, but braking from highway speed makes the steering wheel shake. Pads still have material. Would you start with rotor runout/thickness variation, hub condition or suspension bushings?

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2023 Audi S5, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “steering wheel shakes only under highway braking,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2023 Audi S5 in San Antonio with 43,000 miles. Just my two cents from doing this recently. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2023 Audi S5, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Did the worksheet show tax yet? I'd rather be boring and correct. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Two 2023 Audi S5s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2023 Audi S5 in San Antonio with 43,000 miles. No need to make it theatrical. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.
