2023 Ford Bronco — winch size and recovery points before accessories

2023 Ford Bronco Badlands, about 46,500 miles. I am building a basic recovery setup and would rather get the fundamentals right than collect gear. How do you size a winch and evaluate factory versus aftermarket recovery points? I am in Bay Area.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2023 Ford Bronco does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “winch size and recovery points before accessories,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Just my two cents from doing this recently. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2023 Ford Bronco didn't change. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2023 Ford Bronco is losing coolant with no puddle. Save the big job until that test fails. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.
