2023 Genesis G70 — is this actually a good used-car deal?

DealFan254Community StarterSep 4, 20252023 Genesis G70 3.3TNew York
2023 Genesis G70 3.3T, about 26,500 miles. The online price looks competitive, but I am trying to judge the entire deal rather than the headline number. What should I compare besides mileage, history, condition and a PPI before deciding what it is worth? If I figure it out I will update the thread.

If I were shopping this, i would not wire money until I've seen the 2023 Genesis G70 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. That's the whole play. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2023 Genesis G70 numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2023 Genesis G70 notes. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2023 Genesis G70 price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

This is from a 2023 Genesis G70 in New York with 26,500 miles. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 2023 Genesis G70 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “is this actually a good used-car deal,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Ask for out-the-door on the 2023 Genesis G70 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “is this actually a good used-car deal,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. That's my plan before I call anyone.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2023 Genesis G70. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2023 Genesis G70 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. That's the whole play. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

I would not stare at the monthly. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2023 Genesis G70 price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: A written buyer’s order on the 2023 Genesis G70 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “is this actually a good used-car deal,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.
