2023 GMC Sierra 1500 — second battery versus portable power station — Las Vegas owner

ProjectNomad264Community StarterJul 13, 20262023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4Las Vegas
I want reliable fridge/lights/device power for weekend trips without making the vehicle electrical system unnecessarily complicated. When does a hardwired dual-battery setup beat a portable power station? I am in Las Vegas.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in Las Vegas. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Following up on second battery versus portable power station —: still happening, but I have better notes now. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in Las Vegas, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “second battery versus portable power station —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in Las Vegas. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in Las Vegas. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in Las Vegas. When does it actually happen? Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Not convinced that's the whole story. If it still isn't clear on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. A second data point from another 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
