2023 GMC Sierra 1500 — windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter? — second opinion before I spend money

A new windshield is installed and there is no dash warning, but the shop recommends camera calibration. If the manufacturer procedure calls for it, would you do it even when lane-assist functions appear normal? I am in Charlotte. If I figure it out I will update the thread.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in Charlotte, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in Charlotte. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.
