2023 Nissan Z Performance — should I service 'lifetime' transmission fluid?

JDMMilesCommunity StarterApr 20, 20262023 Nissan Z PerformanceNorth Jersey
2023 Nissan Z Performance, about 1,200 miles. Manual says the transmission fluid is lifetime under normal use, but the car is approaching 80k miles and I plan to keep it a long time. Curious what owners are actually doing and whether drain/fill versus exchange matters. I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

If it were in my driveway, swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2023 Nissan Z and see if the fault moves. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

Ask what changed right before it started. Move a coil or plug on the 2023 Nissan Z if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2023 Nissan Z, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “should i service 'lifetime' transmission fluid,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'll poke at it this weekend.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2023 Nissan Z and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2023 Nissan Z in North Jersey with 1,200 miles. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. If the story changes I'll post the new data.
