2023 Rivian R1T — eV has plenty of main battery but shows a 12V warning — New Jersey owner question

2023 Rivian R1T Quad-Motor, about 60,000 miles. Traction battery is charged, but a low-voltage warning appeared after the car sat overnight. I know the small battery can still immobilize an EV. What information would you capture before service?

If it were in my driveway, get a real battery/charging test on the 2023 Rivian R1T, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

OP update: scanned the 2023 Rivian R1T again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. Not driving it hard until I know more.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Two 2023 Rivian R1Ts can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Capture voltage while the 2023 Rivian R1T is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. That's the branch I'd chase this week. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Log the conditions before you spend. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2023 Rivian R1T and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “ev has plenty of main battery but,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

Not convinced that's the whole story. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2023 Rivian R1T catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.
