2023 Subaru Outback — rebuilt-title price looks tempting

DailyCollector993Community StarterJan 10, 20262023 Subaru Outback WildernessWashington DC
2023 Subaru Outback Wilderness, about 32,500 miles. A rebuilt-title car is much cheaper than clean-title examples and appears professionally repaired. What should I think about beyond repair quality: insurance, financing, future resale and hidden damage? If I figure it out I will update the thread.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. In Washington DC, insurance quotes flipped a 2023 Subaru Outback comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Was this after sitting overnight? Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Ask for out-the-door on the 2023 Subaru Outback with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “rebuilt-title price looks tempting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2023 Subaru Outback in Washington DC with 32,500 miles. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2023 Subaru Outback so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Washington DC, insurance quotes flipped a 2023 Subaru Outback comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2023 Subaru Outback in Washington DC with 32,500 miles. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2023 Subaru Outback and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. I screenshotted the quote for later.

If I were shopping this, if one piece looks too good on the 2023 Subaru Outback, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.
