2024 Acura MDX — check-engine light turned itself off — still scan it?

2024 Acura MDX Type S, about 11,500 miles. The light was on for two days and then disappeared before I could schedule service. Car feels normal. Is there still likely to be useful stored or pending data if I scan it now? I am trying to get the facts straight before spending money.

Log the conditions before you spend. Move a coil or plug on the 2024 Acura MDX if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “check-engine light turned itself off — still,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Acura MDX catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2024 Acura MDX in Atlanta with 11,500 miles. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'll poke at it this weekend.

I'd push back a little: Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Acura MDX does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Do that first. I'll update if anything new shows up.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Acura MDX, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Any freeze-frame data saved? Heat soak after errands is the other window.

Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2024 Acura MDX and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Acura MDX is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Was this after sitting overnight? Only after sitting overnight so far.

If it were in my driveway, get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Acura MDX, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Not driving it hard until I know more.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Acura MDX catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2024 Acura MDX didn't change. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.
