2024 BMW i4 — conservative tune feels great — what should I log?

OldSchoolWeekendCommunity StarterJun 10, 20262024 BMW i4 eDrive40Northern Virginia
2024 BMW i4 eDrive40, about 16,000 miles. I do not want to judge a tune only by how fast the car feels. Which parameters are worth logging periodically if the goal is catching fuel, knock, boost or temperature problems early? I am in Northern Virginia. Interested in real owner experience more than guesses.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Move a coil or plug on the 2024 BMW i4 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “conservative tune feels great — what should,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in Northern Virginia with 16,000 miles. Did the worksheet show tax yet? If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Only after sitting overnight so far.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 BMW i4 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I'd rather be boring and correct. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 BMW i4, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. That's the whole play. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Log the conditions before you spend. Capture voltage while the 2024 BMW i4 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “conservative tune feels great — what should,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Two 2024 BMW i4s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Save the big job until that test fails. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Only after sitting overnight so far.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Capture voltage while the 2024 BMW i4 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in Northern Virginia with 16,000 miles. Any freeze-frame data saved? I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

It did conservative tune feels great — what should twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Only after sitting overnight so far.
