2024 BMW i4 eDrive40 — engine swap packaging: offset versus driveline angle

DailyLearnerCommunity StarterJul 5, 20262024 BMW i4 eDrive40San Diego
Mocking up an engine/transmission in a chassis with very tight steering and footwell clearance. I can offset it slightly, but I don't want to create driveline vibration. What measurements should be locked down before making mounts? Any data points from owners would help.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. Two 2024 BMW i4 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

I would not stare at the monthly. In San Diego, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 BMW i4 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 BMW i4 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “engine swap packaging: offset versus driveline angle,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 BMW i4 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2024 BMW i4 and the doc fee was the tell. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in San Diego. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

If I were shopping this, in San Diego, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 BMW i4 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in San Diego. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2024 BMW i4 notes. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. Two 2024 BMW i4 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Was this after sitting overnight? Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Quick add on that: Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 BMW i4 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. If they balk, that's your answer. On “engine swap packaging: offset versus driveline angle,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Yes, with one caveat: Call your insurer in San Diego before you fall in love with the 2024 BMW i4. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Any freeze-frame data saved? Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 BMW i4 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Any freeze-frame data saved? I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.
