2024 BMW i4 — footwell gets wet only after heavy rain

2024 BMW i4 eDrive40, about 31,000 miles. The car stays dry in normal rain but after a long storm one front footwell gets damp. Door seal looks okay. What drain/seam tests would you do before tearing the interior apart? I am in Sacramento.

Ask what changed right before it started. Capture voltage while the 2024 BMW i4 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in Sacramento with 31,000 miles. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2024 BMW i4 and see if the fault moves. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “footwell gets wet only after heavy rain,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.
