2024 Buick Envision Avenir, about 21,000 miles. The dealer says the car passed the manufacturer CPO inspection and suggests an outside inspection is unnecessary. I like the warranty but still want an independent PPI. Overkill or sensible?

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Buick Envision is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “cpo badge versus independent ppi,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. That's my plan before I call anyone.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In New York, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Buick Envision comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2024 Buick Envision. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in New York changed the 2024 Buick Envision comparison more than the sale price did. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.
