2024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 — anyone else: Carbureted engine stumbles only when I tip into throttle

ColdStartFan4Community StarterAug 3, 20262024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51Los Angeles
2024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51, about 48,000 miles. Idle is decent and it cruises okay, but a quick throttle input makes it stumble. I'm trying not to change three things at once. Accelerator pump, timing, vacuum leak—which test would you do first? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If one piece looks too good on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. That's the whole play. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
NorthNomad2Community StarterCommunity StarterAug 3, 2026permalink
Not convinced that's the whole story. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. On “anyone else: carbureted engine stumbles only when,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “anyone else: carbureted engine stumbles only when,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In Los Angeles, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette in Los Angeles with 48,000 miles. Just my two cents from doing this recently. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Call your insurer in Los Angeles before you fall in love with the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette in Los Angeles with 48,000 miles. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. Sleeping on the number either way.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In Los Angeles, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. That's the whole play. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette notes. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. Stop there until you know. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Yes, with one caveat: A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.
