2024 Ford Mustang GT — intermittent metallic rattle after cold start

2024 Ford Mustang GT, about 14,500 miles. For the first few seconds after a cold start I hear a metallic rattle, then it disappears and won't come back once the engine is warm. No warning lights and it drives normally. Has anyone chased something like this without just replacing random parts? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Ford Mustang, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “intermittent metallic rattle after cold start,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Ford Mustang in New Jersey with 14,500 miles. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Ford Mustang does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Any freeze-frame data saved? Checking again after work.

It did intermittent metallic rattle after cold start twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. I'll poke at it this weekend.
