I was focused on tow rating until I added passengers, cargo and tongue weight. Payload looks like the real constraint. How much buffer do you leave in a family towing setup?

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2024 Jeep Gladiator before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Quick add on that: A second data point from another 2024 Jeep Gladiator owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. When does it actually happen? Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Jeep Gladiator, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork.
