2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata — how much room below MSRP when inventory is normal? — Connecticut owner question

FlatSixSeller714Community StarterJun 24, 20262024 Mazda MX-5 Miata ClubConnecticut
2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club, about 6,500 miles. I am shopping a new car with several similar units sitting nearby. Dealer started at MSRP plus fees. What is the best way to use competing written quotes without turning the process into endless back-and-forth?

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. Two 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd push back a little: If one piece looks too good on the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata in Connecticut with 6,500 miles. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata (6,500 miles) and the doc fee was the tell. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “5 miata — how much room below,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Agree — and I'd add this: Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If one piece looks too good on the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

If I were shopping this, two 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Stop there until you know. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata notes. I'll update if anything new shows up.
