2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid — need advice: CPO luxury SUV or brand-new mainstream SUV?

Budget works for either a lightly used luxury SUV or a new mainstream model with a full warranty. I'm more worried about three-to-five-year ownership cost and service downtime than the purchase price. How would you compare them? I'm in Austin.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Austin, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Ford Maverick comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: A written buyer’s order on the 2022 Ford Maverick is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “need advice: cpo luxury suv or brand-new,” that was the fork that mattered for me. When does it actually happen? If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.
