2024 Mitsubishi Outlander — pPI found $1,800 of upcoming work

NoMarkupFanCommunity StarterJun 5, 20262024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV SELLong Island
2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV SEL, about 10,500 miles. Inspection found several real maintenance items but nothing catastrophic. I still like the car. Do you treat the shop estimate as a dollar-for-dollar negotiation point or just decide whether the asking price still makes sense? I am in Long Island. Interested in real owner experience more than guesses. I am trying not to assume the first explanation I see online.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “ppi found $1,800 of upcoming work,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Any freeze-frame data saved? I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'd rather be boring and correct. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Two 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. I'll update if anything new shows up.

If I were shopping this, i would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. Was this after sitting overnight? Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

I asked about ppi found $1,800 of upcoming work again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Call your insurer in Long Island before you fall in love with the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Do that first. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in Long Island before you fall in love with the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “ppi found $1,800 of upcoming work,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. When does it actually happen? A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander notes. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in Long Island before you fall in love with the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'd rather be boring and correct. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I would not stare at the monthly. In Long Island, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander in Long Island with 10,500 miles. No need to make it theatrical. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.
