2024 Mitsubishi Outlander — windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?

WeekendNomadCommunity StarterJan 17, 20262024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV SELSalt Lake City
2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV SEL, about 8,000 miles. A new windshield is installed and there is no dash warning, but the shop recommends camera calibration. If the manufacturer procedure calls for it, would you do it even when lane-assist functions appear normal? I am in Salt Lake City.

I'd pick the setup I'll actually live with in slush. Watch brake clearance and overall diameter if you downsize winter wheels on the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. Then you'll know the next fork. Any freeze-frame data saved? Heat soak after errands is the other window.

This is a climate question as much as a tire question. If Salt Lake City only sees a few real storms, a good all-weather on the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander can be the saner daily. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander in Salt Lake City with 8,000 miles. No need to make it theatrical. I'll poke at it this weekend.

This is a climate question as much as a tire question. In Salt Lake City, dedicated winters on the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander paid off more than I expected on ice, even on plowed roads. That's where I'd start. On “windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Any freeze-frame data saved? Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Thanks — that narrowed it. I'm going to try the simpler check on the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander first. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Salt and cold mornings punish cheap shortcuts. If Salt Lake City only sees a few real storms, a good all-weather on the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander can be the saner daily. I'd do that before spending real money. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.
